Why am I not receiving SMS alerts from OPAY
Three factors might caused your inability to receive SMS alerts from your OPay Account;
1. You’ve not activate SMS Alert & Notification on your OPAY Account. If you’ve not setup SMS alert on your account, go-to your account SMS alert subscription under your account settings to activate it.
2. The phone number you’re using is not your original OPAY Number. So, you have to make sure your opay registered phone number is active because that’s where the SMS alerts will be sent.
3. You are out of free SMS alerts. The following types of SMS Alerts are Free on OPay:
- Account upgrade starting from tier 2 to tier 3 upgrade notifications
- Utility payments alerts (a recharge code issued after a successful Electricity bill payment and also an activation code issued after a successful Showmax)
- Package payment card transactions alerts
- Card delivery notifications
- Refund update notifications
So, the rest of alerts and notifications will incur for a charge of N4 per message. If this amp is not available in your OPay account, you will not receive a SMS alert.
Lastly, if you don’t and can’t have access to your original OPay registered number, you can contact opay’s customer service team for replacement. However, note that a verification process may apply.
